According to audited 2009 yearly results, the specialized consumer credit bank BIGBANK AS Lithuanian branch, which provides loans exclusively to private persons, showed 4.4 million LTL profit in 2009.
BIGBANK AS Lithuanian branch total assets amounted to 60.9 million LTL by the end 2009 in comparison with 58.3 million LTL in the end of Q3. The increase of loan portfolio in Q4 increased by 1.5 million LTL and reached 55,9 million LTL by the end of 2009. According to Rolandas Norvilas, the Head of BIGBANK AS Lithuanian branch, irrespective of the hard times, the bank reached the goal that was set for the year 2009 - the whole year was profitable. "In year 2008, the branch incurred annual loss of 0.6 million LTL due to the investments for the establishment of the branch and expansion in Lithuania. However, already at the end of 2008 Q4, the branch managed to become profitable and retained this tendency throughout the whole year 2009. The results were no doubt influenced by our exercised responsible and conservative lending policy - we evaluate every client separately. Moreover, we work actively with people experiencing temporary financial problems, help them through their family budget planning and advise on other important issues. Priorities are the same for the current year - control over loans. The main difference for this year is the plan to issue more loans than in 2009, to implement other solutions so that we could become even more accessible for the customers." - states the Head of BIGBANK AS Lithuanian branch, Rolandas Norvilas.
