According to unaudited Q1 2010 financial results, specialized consumer loan bank BIGBANK AS Lithuanian branch reached profit of 275 thousand LTL since the beginning of the year. BIGBANK AS is the biggest specialized consumer bank in Lithuania.
BIGBANK AS Lithuanian branch total assets amounted to 60.6 mln LTL in the end of Q1 2010. Loan portfolio volume increased slightly. Interest income amounted to 4.5 mln. LTL and other income were 758 thousand LTL.
The bank was profitable during Q1 - profit amounted to 275 thousand LTL. "Despite the economic downturn and the moderate demand for consumer loans BIGBANK Lithuania operations remained profitable. We follow our clients' needs attentively and try to offer relevant products to the market; therefore we plan to issue more loans in 2010 in comparison to the previous year. For this reason we recently introduced a novelty to Lithuanian market - Security credit, which means a consumer loan with insurance from losing a job included. In a way, it's a new generation banking product and a relevant solution at the same time for the ones who wish to borrow really safely and get a toll free credit insurance in case of losing a source of main income unexpectedly, becoming unemployed or when credit holder dies." - said the Head of BIGBANK AS Lithuanian branch Rolandas Norvilas.
